@Kari, as you stated, ESD is working again and I made an ISO from a VM install.esd.
Sorry, again, for the "how to copy path" blunder, it's been a long day.
You have to choose if you want to get ESD or UUP upgrade by editing registry. Read this post for more information: ESD to ISO - Create Bootable ISO from Windows 10 ESD File

Judging by the amount of feedback, I'm the only one testing. Here's my feedback:
UUPtoISO current test version works almost perfectly with only one minor issue: when done, when ISO has been created, the Command Prompt window does not close when pressing a key.
I didn't get a chance to test it before upgrading to the last version.
I haven't started downloading the best build yet, do I can test this time around.
So basically I have already upgraded my system and I tried pointing the .exe tool to the Windows.old folder, and I get the error message that it couldn't find the esd file in the C:\Windows.old\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download folder. Am I doing something wrong? I think I am reading the quoted bullet point correctly.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Sorry, you are not reading it correctly.
You must find the UUP folder, which is a subfolder in C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download, or in your case in C:\Windows.old\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download
In File Explorer, browse to C:\Windows.old\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download. You will see that it has several subfolders named with a hexadecimal string. Only one of these folders contains an ESD file, that's the folder we want.
An easy way to find correct folder: Still in Download folder, type EXT:ESD in Search field to find the ESD file. When Search has found it, right click the ESD file and select Open file location:
Now you have opened the correct folder. Copy the path and paste in UUPtoISO:
