Create Desktop Shortcut of Website in Google Chrome  

When I Create the Shortcuts as specified they are created; however, when I click the shortcut it always takes me to my Google Home Page in Chrome. Until about 6 months the created shortcuts would take me to the page/site where they were created. Then that stopped occurring and all new shortcuts take me to the Home Page. This happens os all 5 of my computers. It may be something I did 6 months ago, but don't recall what I did, and since they are all synced the situation replicates across all machines.

Brink, I tried it both checked and unchecked, no difference. It obviously came from some setting somewhere in Chrome. Shortcuts in EDGE and IE work fine. I have talked to friends that are using Chrome and do not have the same issue.

Just tried it on my new laptop. I created a shortcut to this site and it worked fine. Then I created shortcuts to Chase and Citi. These two took me to my homepage, Google.

I create all my shortcuts by entering the URL and they work fine that way & I have a folder with FavIcons for the created shortcuts. This is the same as the URL you proposed and my manually created shortcuts always open in Chrome since that is the default browser. What I want is to be able to click on More Tools + Add to Desktop and have the created Icon shortcut take me to the web page versus my home page. This is easier and also results in shortcuts with site-specific graphics versus the generic Chrome icon.

OH Boy I cannot thank you enough you saved the day for me thank you. I was going NUTS trying to figure this out.

Is there a way to pin the created bookmark the Chrome jump list?
Or just to the taskbar itself?
