    How to Hide or Show Seconds on Taskbar Clock in Windows 10

    The clock on your taskbar in Windows 10 displays the system time and date. By default, the time does not include showing seconds.

    This tutorial will show you how to hide or show seconds on the taskbar system clock for your account in Windows 10.

    Note   Note
    The downloadable .bat files below will add and modify the DWORD value in the registry key below.

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

    ShowSecondsInSystemClock DWORD

    0 = Hide seconds
    1 = Show seconds


    EXAMPLE: Hide or Show seconds on taskbar system clock
    Name:  No_seconds_in_taskbar_clock.png
Views: 337
Size:  13.5 KB
    Name:  seconds_in_taskbar_clock.png
Views: 333
Size:  14.3 KB




    Here's How:

    1. Do step 2 (hide) or step 3 (show) below for what you would like to do.


     2. To Hide Seconds on Taskbar System Clock

    NOTE: This is the default setting.

    A) Click/tap on the Download button below to download the file below, and go to step 4 below.

    Hide_seconds_on_taskbar_clock.bat

    download


     3. To Show Seconds on Taskbar System Clock

    A) Click/tap on the Download button below to download the file below, and go to step 4 below.

    Show_seconds_on_taskbar_clock.bat

    download

    4. Save the .bat file to your desktop.

    5. Unblock the .bat file.

    6. Run the .bat file.

    7. You will now notice your screen flicker as explorer is restarted.

    8. When finished, you can delete the downloaded .bat file if you like.
