Hi Shawn, I have the brightness slider but no temp slider. Might there be a reg setting to show it?

Hello i have problem with night light on build 1903. Night light is turning on at the indicated time but without any reaction. It helps restart computer. There is any tip how to resolve this problem?
    Hi dzaggiel,

Do you have 'fast start' turned on? That's been known to cause problems.

Then there's some tips here: How to Fix Windows 10 Night Light if it Doesn't Work Properly Personally I'd try the first suggestion with deleting those registry entries, if Shawn had a tutorial on this he'd probably have some type of .bat file to do the deletion and then all you'd have to do is restart the machine after running it.

I did check for other tutorials or threads for nite lite problems but didn't find anything. Here's a forum search you might check: Night Light Scroll down a bit to see the forum results.

    Hello Steve,

Do you have a Strength slider instead? It has been renamed.

This is what I have in Settings >System >Display:

Turn On or Off Night Light in Windows 10-nl.png

It's a bit different in Notifications where it's the same slider but it starts with a 'Sun' icon.

    Steve,

Do you have a Night Light settings link under the Night Light on/off button in your screenshot?

Yes I do and it's set about half way. So you're telling me that's the temp bar now? I liked it better when it was the pretty colors it was more intuitive, this 'slider bar' isn't.

A person's eyes are at least 90% of learning, and they should change the name back to temperature.

Yep, Strength is the new color temperature bar.

It is sad in its own way.

My parents bless their souls, raised four sons each one learning as they became adults, having the patience to put up with their errors and mistakes and trying to pass on advice.

I'll have to try and emulate my parents, in trying to catch the idiosyncrasies of Windows as it grows into adulthood.

In versions < 1809 we could set this setting while guiding with kelvin values, the lowest was 1200K and each notche on Night Light's slider using arrow keys was equivalent of 100K towards the max of 6500K. So with this, i had mine set to 3000K, but now with version 1903 and prior this setting is changed and the values are now between 0 and 100 strength instead of temperature.

Isn't there a way to set this setting based on Kelvin anymore?

    Hello,

I'm not aware of a way to set it by Kelvin anymore, but if you click and hold on the slider in Settings, it will give you a preview of the Night Light setting to see how it looks.
