    Hello Kem,

It sounds like you used Option Two instead.

If you like, you might see if Option One may work better for you.

i wished to copy my edge bookmarks to my new computer.
i followed the advice above but there are no sign of the imported bookmarks when i open edge.
    where have i gone wrong?
I'd recommend that you use the HTML export/import technique... it is the most "future proof" of all of the methods. Just do an "export to file" on the "donor PC" and then do a "import from file" on the "recipient PC".

Note: If the recipient PC has any favorites at all... then Edge will place the new items in a top-level folder called "Imported from...".

Take a look at this article that explains a lot of the details: http://www.edgemanage.emmet-gray.com/Articles/BackupRestore.html

Since 1803, Microsoft Edge does not create an html backup file anymore, but a whole daily backup of Edge favorites and settings in the hidden folder:
    %UserProfile%\MicrosoftEdgeBackups

Shawn @Brink, would it be possible to update the tutorial to enlighten us on how to restore from this backup, if of course you have any idea how this can be done.

    Hello Dimitri,

Microsoft Edge still imports/exports with a HTML file for me like below, but I do need to update the screenshots in the tutorial.
