    Found it!

I think I have found a working solution to create standard generalized ISO as per Part One, or customized generalized ISO as per Part Three. However, I will not post anything before I have done some more extensive tests including the worst case scenarios, but I can already say this seems to work perfectly.

This is more as a workaround than a permanent solution, but in any case first tests show it's working. A more permanent solution can only be found when either Microsoft fixes this issue with Holographic View app preventing generalizing a Windows image with Sysprep or we can found a method to work around this issue.

It's 13:20 now (for time disabled, that's 1:20 PM ). I promise to post the solution today but it might take until late tonight my time. I need to be 1,783% sure that it works before posting.

Post the solution at the VIP Room first so we can test it before publishing it publicly. Sort of "Kari's Insider Testers". :)

OK guys, I will no longer call this a workaround, it is a fully working solution :).

I've run tests full day, last test installs still running. I'll wait those installs to end. It is now almost 1:30 AM and I am simply no longer capable to start editing / rewriting the tutorial. I will do it tomorrow Monday.

Main point is, it works :)

Running last tests as we speak for the most advanced ISO, the one in Part Three. Everything looking good, that problem app will no longer cause any issues.

Of course this method cannot be compared to ESD to ISO method*which only takes a few minutes whereas this can take an hour, on slower machines even more.

However, this method is really easy, too. Only a few mouse clicks and couple of commands, rest of the time required is just waiting for progress; reset and capturing install.wim will take time. Benefits are obvious, whenever Microsoft decides to pull the plug and quit providing ESD file forcing everyone to use UUP, we are ready. That in addition to the fact that methods in Part Two and Three will create a highly customized ISO image which makes re-install and clean install a piece of cake with desktop personalised and all standard software already installed in the same time you would normally need just to install Windows.

Starting the rewrite in an hour or so, corrected tutorial will be available today.

After Step 9 in Part 1 I get a could not remove all your personal files message. I'm ploughing on regardless.

    EDIT: Er, the reset tutorial.
