In that case, double check to make sure that the Shell Hardware Detection service is enabled, started (running), and set to Automatic.

It was running and was set to Automatic. I stopped it and restarted it. No change. The hard drive is still found immediately but no Autoplay options are offered.

Hmm, ok. Are they being plugged directly into a USB port on the computer, and not from some USB hub that may not play nice with AutoPlay?

I am not using any USB hubs at all. So, yes, directly plugged into USB ports on the computer.

Ok. Next, check to see if you have any policies set that may have disabled AutoPlay for drives.

I don't know much about Policy settings so perhaps you can give me a bit of guidance as to what to check and how to check it. Thanks.

That's ok. You can use the tutorial below to see if you have any policies enabled in Group Policy. If you do, report back which ones to see if one may be responsible for this. Usually, it'll be the policy in the tutorial I posted above.

    Thank you for the guide.

Would it be possible to get a tutorial on how to remove the AutoPlay options from the context menu?
    Assuming this is possible.

Hello seedless, and welcome to Ten Forums.

If you mean from the context menu of removable drives, then you could disable AutoPlay using an option below that should do so.

    AutoPlay in Context Menu

I appreciate the warm welcome and quick reply Shawn!

I already have AutoPlay disabled for everything in my settings/options. I was just wondering if it was possible to remove the option in the Windows 10 Context Menu options? A quick Google led to no results.

ALL of my drives are attached through an internal SATA ports directly to the motherboard.

EDIT: I originally posted a screenshot with my post, I can't see it now?
