How to Send Feedback to Microsoft with Feedback Hub app in Windows 10

The Feedback Hub app lets you tell Microsoft about any problems you run into while using Windows 10. You can also send suggestions to help us improve your Windows experience.

Sending a suggestion or reporting a problem can be as easy as finding feedback similar to yours and upvoting it or adding your experience. However, if you can’t find feedback like yours, then go ahead and create a new piece of feedback for Microsoft. You can even attach some screenshots or recreate a problem to help Microsoft see what you’re experiencing.

If you want to be even more involved, then join the Windows Insider program (not required) and keep up with the latest alerts and announcements, rate the builds, participate in feedback Quests, and earn badges.

The Feedback Hub is an app available on Windows devices. You can search for it, press the Win + F to open it, or find it in your Start menu to get started. Sign in with the Microsoft account that that you used to register for the Windows Insider Program to get access to all its features.

If you are not signed in to the Feedback Hub app with your Microsoft account, you will only be able to add new feedback; you won’t be able to search existing feedback or see the status of feedback you might have submitted previously.

You do not have to join the Windows Insider Program to send feedback to Microsoft via the Feedback Hub app.

    Hi Shawn,

Now that Windows 10 has been released publicly, but still including the Feedback app, I wonder if it would be worth tweaking the title to help folks new to the Forum who've just started using Windows 10 (and didn't use the Feedback app as Insiders) find it more easily, if they want to send a Bug Report to Microsoft.

Something like 'Feedback and Bug Reports- Send to Microsoft in Window 10', perhaps?

Also, the WinKey - ? Keyboard shortcut is useful, because it opens the Feedback app straightaway with a screenshot, so I'd suggest adding that to Option Four?

    Hey David, :)

Good point. I can't change the title without breaking links, but I did change the description to help. I added the keyboard shortcut to OPTION FOUR as well.

Starting with Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14342, when you create new feedback, the Feedback Hub will suggest categories and subcategories based on the title and description you entered. If you see a suggestion that looks right, just click it to fill in the menus and get your feedback to the right engineers quickly.

Starting with Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14352, you’ll now see short status tags on feedback to let you know what we’re doing with it. The tags are a short-form way to give status on feedback we’re actively working on or have made changes for. The tags will often be published along with a “Microsoft response” comment that gives more context on what the team is doing. This change also replaces the “Received” tag that you’ve been seeing on all feedback with something much more useful and informative!

    Hi Shawn,
Great article as always. A small request, can you add a section on how to share the Feedback link with others?

People often ask about this when I link your article and I have to write a long post explaining to them how to do the same.

I don't think it's now possible to upvote a problem, only a suggestion (perhaps since the last revamp of Feedback Hub in August 2019?)
