How to Send Feedback to Microsoft in Windows 10

    information   Information
Windows 10 is here, but you can still join the Windows Insider Program to get a direct pipeline for sending your feedback straight to Microsoft to help build Windows 10 alongside PC experts, IT pros, and developers around the world.

You do not have to join the Windows Insider Program to send feedback (ex: bug report) though.

As part of the Windows Insider Program, Microsoft wants to get your feedback in real time, so occasionally you will be asked for feedback while you are using Windows. For example, if you open up the new Start menu and rearrange the tiles, you may get a prompt notification from the Windows Feedback app asking what you thought about it. You could then just click/tap on the prompt, and Microsoft will ask a few questions about what you think of the feature or scenario. And don’t worry about hurting feelings—be honest!

This tutorial will show you different ways on how to send feedback and bug reports to Microsoft about Windows 10.

    Note   Note
Starting with Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14352, you’ll now see short status tags on feedback to let you know what we’re doing with it. The tags are a short-form way to give status on feedback we’re actively working on or have made changes for. The tags will often be published along with a “Microsoft response” comment that gives more context on what the team is doing. This change also replaces the “Received” tag that you’ve been seeing on all feedback with something much more useful and informative!

Starting with Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14291, Microsoft merged the Insider Hub and Windows Feedback apps into a single app called the Feedback Hub located in All apps by default.

Starting with Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14316, Microsoft has added the ability to comment on feedback inside the Feedback Hub.

Starting with Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14342, when you create new feedback, the Feedback Hub will suggest categories and subcategories based on the title and description you entered. If you see a suggestion that looks right, just click it to fill in the menus and get your feedback to the right engineers quickly.

    1. Open the Windows Feedback app from All apps in your Start menu, or by pressing the + ? keys.

    2. Do a search for your feedback topic (ex: Microsoft Music) to see if someone else has already given similar feedback. If you like, you can narrow the search results by Most recent, Upvotes, and Filter options. (see screenshot below)

    Hi Shawn,

Now that Windows 10 has been released publicly, but still including the Feedback app, I wonder if it would be worth tweaking the title to help folks new to the Forum who've just started using Windows 10 (and didn't use the Feedback app as Insiders) find it more easily, if they want to send a Bug Report to Microsoft.

Something like 'Feedback and Bug Reports- Send to Microsoft in Window 10', perhaps?

Also, the WinKey - ? Keyboard shortcut is useful, because it opens the Feedback app straightaway with a screenshot, so I'd suggest adding that to Option Four?

    Hey David,

Good point. I can't change the title without breaking links, but I did change the description to help. I added the keyboard shortcut to OPTION FOUR as well.
