How to Turn On or Off Action Center Always Open in Windows 10

In Windows 10, action center is where to find your app notifications, as well as quick actions, which give you quick access to commonly used settings and apps.

When you open the action center, it will only stay open until you click/tap on anything else. The action center will then automatically close by default.

This tutorial will show you how to turn on or off having the action center always remain opened until closed for all users in Windows 10.

You must be signed in as an administrator to turn on or off action center always open.
If you turn on action center always open, users will be able to toggle to open and close the action center for their accounts by clicking on the action center Turn On or Off Action Center Always Open in Windows 10-action_center_icon.png icon or pressing the Win+A keys.

While the action center is open, it will remain open and always be on top until closed.

    Note:

On my machine (current updates as of 4/9/21) the action center does not have a dismiss button (the X). If you enable the above behavior of persist until dismiss, to dismiss it just click the action center icon on the taskbar. (I have x-mouse enabled (hover to focus); that might or might not make a difference.)

That's what the instructions here say. The action center has never had a dismiss button (the X).

I don't see those instructions. Rather all I see is "When you open the action center, it will only stay open until you click/tap on anything else. The action center will then automatically close by default." That is the default behavior that the tutorial aims to modify. Did I miss it somewhere else? Wouldn't be the first time.

Hi, I enabled DisableLightDismiss that worked. However, when the action center is open it disables sounds. This is unfortunate since I am not always staring at it.
