I am sorry to ask it again. I am a bit confused now.
Because I just dont understand it at all. All I want is to get back that Original Windows 10 pic that I had before I uploaded my own personal pics.
I can now see what were informed on Post 4 in first page. But I just dont understand what to do next
I've updated step 5 in OPTION ONE in the tutorial to help show you what to do to select the default account picture again. :)
Sorry I am not able to get back the Original pic of Windows 10 back on my account pic.
Maybe that I just didnt understand what you suggest. Because I can now only see there an pic that I uploaded. But I want to get back my real Windows pic that I had before all changes.
Anyway, thanks for your support. Maybe I try it tomorrow again. Thanks
Hi all
I'm fighting for several weeks with a problem that maybe belongs to this thread! i set up a windows 10 IoT image with 4 users and gave the same user account picture to them. obviously this works as normal. the thing is, after i sysprep the system, the user account pics are gone.. replaced by nothing. in the folder you guys where talking about, %programData%\microsoft\user account pictures are the former pics stored with the ending .dat
the million-dollar question is now, is there a way, getting the user pictures at sysprep back automatically? means, with a script?
maybe some of you guys had the same issue? thanks a lot!
I have the same error posted above when I try to change my account picture on one computer. ("Account picture error/Setting the account picture failed. Please try again.")
I have been able to change the default pictures in %ProgramData%\Microsoft\User Account Pictures to one I want, but I don't like all users having my pic.
I figured I could change just my account pic by directly editing it somewhere. However, C:\Users\Public\Public Account Pictures\S-1-5-21.......(GUID for user account) is empty. I thought I could therefore fill it with something from a computer with a working account pic, but it turns out my working computer just has a GUID, but no pic. I think this means that my actual profile pic must be stored somewhere else, not there. Any idea where? Reading this thread, I also looked at C:\Users\{your name}\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\AccountPictures. That folder has my desired pic in it, but it's not used.
I tried creating an empty folder with my GUID in C:\Users\Public\Public Account Pictures\ but that didn't help either.
Any more ideas? Thanks!
Hello thornburgh, and welcome to Ten Forums. :)
Is this for a local account or Microsoft account?
