For now, you could send feedback to Microsoft via the Feedback Hub app about this issue to help get their attention about it.
    This is interesting...
when I ran account troubleshooter I get errors
    -Can't connect to sync service
    -Rootcauses found and created logs

Change Account Picture in Windows 10-sync-error-2019-02-02_10-46-14.jpg

So any idea how to fix this?
The troubleshooter does not offer any solutions to fix those errors

I'm not sure other than seeing if installing 1809 may help.

I just configured a new PC with 3 different account pictures for 3 accounts (1 user Microsoft, 1 local user and 1 local admin). The assigned photos keep flipping between these 3 and don't remain set. Any fixes?

    Hello Steve,

Is this just happening with the Microsoft account?

I've never seen it share pictures like that between separate accounts on the computer.

I deleted the unwanted images in %AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\AccountPictures for each account and they display OK now.

Hi Shaun, (Taken from the notes section of your tutorial.)
The default user account picture images are in the hidden system folder below.
    %ProgramData%\Microsoft\User Account Pictures

Your current user account picture is stored in the hidden folder below.
C:\Users\Public\Public Account Pictures\S-1-5-21.......(GUID for user account)

Your recent user account pictures are stored in the hidden folder below.
    %AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\AccountPictures

Ive just added a a photo to my Microsoft Acccount. All but one of the above is true when I copied and pasted the commands into the File explorer address bar. When typing in the command to show where my current user account picture (highlighted in Red) is stored ...My current User Account Picture isn't shown there..that folder is an empty folder.
However my current user account pic is shown under Recent User Account pics? Everything seems to be working OK..is this normal behaviour?

    Hey mate,

I'm seeing the same thing as well. I've updated the notes at the top to strike though that bit.
