    Hello tfwul, :)

The group policy should not go away no matter what it's set to.

    Puzzled ...

Checked the eventlog - there was a 'warning' very soon after the first install (retail usb on a formatted SSD) reading

    "
Windows cannot find the resource package manifest in the bundle file: C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.WindowsStore_2015.7.1.0_neutral_split.language-nl_8wekyb3d8bbwe\AppxManifest.xml
    "

Really don't know if that has something to do with it.

there are a lot of 'store' entries in the event log though.

    Question is ... now what?

Interesting. I don't see this group policy anymore in build 10547.

I checked what I did (kept screenshots of virtually all steps I take when installing WIndows and Windows applicatons,- not apps):
    right-click 'store' on taskbar
    to go settings
    auto update [off]
    store on taskbar again
    unpin this program from taskbar

Maybe... this results in removing it from group policy(?)
and maybe this removal leads to all the event log entries
    verrry long shot though.

No. It must have been a change made by Microsoft in some update. Group policies don't go away on their own like that.

    What build are you running?

Build 10240. Insider Preview builds aside (think they are at 10525 or so) I assume this is the latest 'official' version.

According to this TechNet page, the registry values have changed for Version 1511:

    • 0. Notify the user before downloading the update.
    • 1. Auto install the update and then notify the user to schedule a device restart.
    • 2 (default). Auto install and restart.
    • 3. Auto install and restart at a specified time.
    • 4. Auto install and restart without end-user control.
    • 5. Turn off automatic updates.

Hello Soyabeaner, and welcome to Ten Forums. :)

It's still the same for the group policy in the tutorial.

The TechNet page is for something else.

Sorry I thought they were the same registry paths because of the name "WindowsStore" in it. I wonder what the other one is for.

It looks like the group policy version to set this below instead.

I'm using this reg file at my school. I hope this will stop Windows 10 from installing useless apps and games even i uninstalled all metro apps. They will be happy.
