    Hello again,

just a little newsflash. After everything was working fine, I proceeded with the normal Windows Update procedures when it wanted to go to build 14393.187 or whatever the newest is. The LogonController.dll was overwritten and I then did as was instructed in the tutorial, to delete the backup file and then install again as normal. Yes, it again does what it's supposed to do and after restarting the lock screen is gone. However, it is back when you do a workstation lock from a logged on session. I tried reinstating the security policy which no longer works and also the task scheduler, but to no avail. LogonController.dll does its job perfectly, but when you then lock an ongoing session, the screen is back and at least for me the solutions #3 and #4 do not work on this version (stated above).

PS. I now system restored to 14393.105, where everything is as it's supposed to.

    Hello zil,

Option 3 and 4 in the tutorial on the first page here still work to disable the lock screen, but just does not affect the lock screen at startup.

My startup was fine. On the build I mentioned, those tutorials didn't work anymore when locking a session. I tried both. Since it didn't work, I went back to previous build using System Restore.

You might double check the steps to make sure that you didn't miss anything by mistake. They're still working in builds 14393.187 (non Insider) and 14926 (Insider) for me.

    Windows 9 (aka Windows 10)

There's still no known way to disable the lock screen on startup under Pro? Over the past couple days, I've been trying something I had high hopes for: I noticed that hitting a Ctrl key dismissed the startup lock screen, so I set up a task to run NirCmd.exe with the parameters "sendkey ctrl press". That didn't work, so I tried "sendkey ctrl down" followed by "sendkey ctrl up". No good. I tried all sorts of triggers, task settings, and even tried running it from the System account. And I still can't get rid of that stupid lock screen.
