Same thing. Logs into Windows fine, no lock screen or password needed, but once the screen goes to sleep after 10 min waking it up with an input shows the lock screen. Swiping the screen or hitting a keyboard key makes it go away without the password. But having to hit those inputs is simply not possible for some of these users due to what they have to use to operate their computers.

I disabled connected standby just to see if that made any difference, but it acted the same.
I just tested on my system with this below set, and I don't see the lock screen anymore or have to sign in.

Weird. It will not on mine.

    I set a password.
Control userpasswords2 - set auto login (this works).
In Settings > Accounts > Sign in Options, it is set to Never for the Require sign in.
Verified "display logon screen" is not checked (even checked it, hit OK, went back, and unchecked, hit OK again)
Used option 3 with the scheduled task.

Waited a few minutes, screen went dark, I hit the input, screen came back on, at the lock screen, and was stuck unless I used the keyboard or swiped the screen

Odd. When you did OPTION THREE to disable the lock screen, did you sign out/in or restart the computer to apply?

Yes sir, I did. I just navigated in the registry to make sure that key was set to 0 and it is.

I suppose double check to make sure that Ctrl+Alt+Delete secure screen is not enabled. If it is, the lock screen will still always show.

It is not set. Never have had to touch Ctrl+Alt+Del on these.

I must admit that I'm not sure why they are still showing the lock and sign-in screen when every known thing is set for them not to.

I'm not either, I just tested on my home PC last night and it works like you'd expect. The option is ever so slightly different though. On the Surface Pro 4, under Require Sign-In, It says "If you've been away, when should Windows require you to sign in again?" With the options Never, Every Time, 1 minute, 3 minutes, 5 minutes, 15 minutes. My home PC just has Never and When PC wakes from sleep.

Makes me wonder if it is something to do with the Surface and/or the fact it is a tablet with a touchscreen...

I just checked on my Surface Pro 2 with W10 build 14905 installed, and I have Never and When PC wakes from sleep.

The available options will vary depending on the features of the device though.

I created an account just to add this.
I just upgraded my PC to Win 10 and I used to have the lock screen disabled but that didn't work anymore. I tried so much stuff until I read a couple pages back about it not working anymore on newer builds. I checked my build and sure enough, version 1607. After a quick search I found a solution that actually works! I'll paste it here and maybe you can add it to the first page.

    1. Tap on the Windows-key, type "Local Security Policy" and open the item of the same name.
    2. Select Software Restriction Policies > Additional Rules.
    3. If you don't see the menu, select Action > New Software Restriction Policies to create it.
    4. Right-click on the right pane and select New Path Rule.
    5. Under Path, paste C:\Windows\SystemApps\Microsoft.LockApp_cw5n1h2txyewy
    6. Make sure the security level is set to Disallowed.
    7. Click ok.
