    Thx Brink.
Yeah. I found out about that difference between locking using Windows + L and the startup lock screen. I have literally tried every command line option and registry entry I could find on the web.
Microsoft just updated my windows to the latest and grandest version (21H) of Windows 10 Pro for workstations and it STILL does not turn off locked screen. I somehow found a free Microsoft support area of Microsoft and that's what they recommended and they took over my machine and reinstalled windows. No help!

Have you been able to time how long it takes for the display to turn off while sitting idle on the lock screen after Win+L?

By default, it should be one minute. It will be interesting if it's the same as your "Turn off display" time instead.

Since this is for a desktop, you don't have to worry about setting this for both AC and DC in power options.

Did you restart the computer to see if the settings may get applied afterwards?

OK so I set the turn off screen after value to 2 minutes, reboot and then hit Windows + L and I waited 2 minutes. Nothing. The screen just sits there on the lock screen.

That's pretty much the whole thing - it will not turn off the lock screen. I tried it on my other computer and no problem at all.

Since this is an OEM computer, check to see if Lenovo may have their own power management type software installed that could be overriding this setting.

There is Lenovo vantage on the computer but it has not been installed. I'm trying to chat with Lenovo right now.

OK, I have figured out what the problem is. Unfortunately there really isn't a solution I like. I was trying to resurrect my old Microsoft 6000 keyboard since it is my favorite to type on and I figured out a place to put the transceiver to get the best signal. Unfortunately, it is now well documented some Microsoft wireless mice and keyboards do not play nice with - you guessed it - screen timeouts and lock screen timeouts!

It sucks. I have to go back to my newer suckier Microsoft keyboard that does play nice with screen timeouts. Thx for the help. I tried all the suggestions online to get it to work but it simply does not work with it.

I'm glad you found the culprit, but sorry to hear you can't use the mouse you wanted.
