Hey mate,

A restore point is created for the OS drive and any drive that you have system protection turned on for.

The restore point (aka: shadow copy) of each specific drive is saved to the hidden System Volume Information folder of the specific drive the restore point is for.

You can use option 2 or 3 below to see a list of available restore points to help.

Sorry, maybe I didn’t explain myself properly.....I meant, why does the procedure outlined create a restore point for the Boot drive ? How does the procedure know it’s Boot drive to create a restore point for as all other HDDs could also have protection turned on

It's marked as a system partition, so it will be included.

I didn’t fully understand, so setting Up a scheduled restore point, creates restore points for ALL HDDs with protection set, is that correct ?...thanks, P.S.love your tutorials....could you add to the tutorial for a shortcut to creat a restore point, with a success notification only....don’t need to name it, but be could to see a confirmation.....can restore points be backed up & restored to the original location, in case an update deletes them....perhaps automated backup and a shortcut to restore them to the correct location.....

Hello Nisko,

The more recent restore points should still be available even after using an older restore point.

However, I would not just rely on restore points since they are not always reliable.

I would recommend to also keep up to date system images.
