Thank you gorgor. I'll try that later. It's my wife's pc and she's starting to hate the constant interruptions. Are you in Germany? My wife is from Nurenberg.

Ja ich komme aus Deutschland. Before you do this, download the Intel drivers I linked above, so you dont lose Wlan after removing the old driver. I will link them again just to be sure, yes they support your device:
Wlan:
Intel(R) PROSet/Wireless Software and Drivers for IT Admins
Update via device manager
Bluetooth:
Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth(R) for Windows(R) 10
Update just via exe execute.
Thank you. I've downloaded for later. Gute Nacht,
Hi gorgor:
Thank you for your help the other day. I have continued to research the issue affecting our Asus Zenbook, namely that it often disconnects from Wifi when the lid is closed.
I discovered an article where someone suggested disabling the Intel Management Engine driver. I have done that, and after 3 days have not had any disconnects. It also seems to have cured another problem we have been plagued with since owning the PC.
In Reliability History we were constantly, almost daily, receiving a critical message the "windows was not properly shutdown". Since disabling the Intel Management Engine, that problem seems to have disappeared as well.
I will continue to monitor the Asus, but for the moment I'm very happy with our progress.
Just wanted to share our results. Thanks again.
@Toronto Cat Glad you found a solution which worked for you. Please update the wifi and BT drivers anyway yours are very old and contain security issues but also other flaws.
Pros! I’ve been experiencing an issue related to this for a while now that I can’t seem to resolve and hoping that you all could provide some guidance.
Essentially my computer keeps waking up! Even when I don’t touch the mouse or the keyboard it keeps waking up.
I already went through the guidance in this tutorial and nothing is set in wake_armed so that’s already all disabled. Whenever the computer wakes up, I check powercfg lastwake and it says no event found. However when I check event viewer, I do see that it says waking up from sleep due to input keyboard, which is weird because again I’m not touching the keyboard and then nothing is set in device manager to wake up from sleep. And that’s confirmed with that command powercfg wake_armed.
What is the other secret setting that could possibly be waking up my computer all the time?? I’m using a HP Elitebook 1030 G4.
Thanks!
Edit: sorry I read through the thread again and I’m worried that this may be a modern standby issue. Is this really what is happening?
I think you need to disable Fast Startup. I've had this problem before, and disabling fixed it. Do this:
Turn On or Off Fast Startup in Windows 10
1. Right click the Battery symbol in the notification area to reveal Power Options. Select Power Options
2. Click on "Choose what the power buttons do" located on the upper right hand side of this Power Options screen
3. Click on "Change settings that not currently available". near the top of the page in blue. This will allow you access to Fast Stattup shown below.
4. Uncheck Fast Startup
5. Restart PC.
Let me know if that works.
Cheers...
Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately, it's already been disabled actually.
An interesting point is that my computer also constantly sleeps after 1 hour of idle time, even though it is plugged in and the setting is set to Never go to sleep when it is plugged in.
Where is this secret setting that is overriding my sleep settings???
I don't know. Have you gone into Advanced Settings?
1. Power Options
2. Change Plan Settings
3. Change Advanced Power Settings
Find Sleep...and ensure settings are what you want. Mine are as follows for battery and plugged
1. Sleep After...15 minutes and Never
2. Allow Hybrid Sleep off and off
3. Hybernate 180 minutes and Never
4. Allow Wake timers disable and disable.
Good luck.
