Mount or Unmount VHD or VHDX File in Windows 10  

It may be wise to mention here that the Powershell cmdlet is only available (as far as I know) with Hyper-V installed in Windows 10 — through the Windows 10 Features in Programs & Features. I had a bit of frustration just now trying to use this cmdlet on a new rig after using it on my old one — and couldn't get it to work. After a bit of Googling, I needed to enable Hyper-V, which did the trick. But I don't think it's enabled by default in Windows 10. Thanks for all the great tut's, Brink!

We also can use DISKPART scripting instruction under CMD (Command Prompt) without PowerShell.

I would like to create a .vhd or .vhdx file from a bootable Windows XP installtion disk. How do you create a .vhd or .vhdx file?

I think that's what I'm trying to do but every time I start the VM it needs the CD in the drive - hence my interest in the .vhdx file to load XP. Any tips for fast startup up so the VM loads from files only on my hard drive?

Eject works with me but why I got it first place ? it appear as new enctypred 1TB partition vhd drive.

No really I just found a K: drive suddenly appeared encrypted with bitlocker !!
