Windows 10: Macrium Reflect - Backup and Restore
Autism Awareness - Win 10
Where is this information located ?
When I create a new folder for the latest backup I always see that I am presented with a dropdown list of all that has gone before.
Where is this info located and is it possible to clear the list ?
This is from my 32 bit laptop, my main PC has a much larger list.
I booted my rescue disk which I though didn't work at first since trackpads seem not to be working on Windows PE environment.
Anyway I successfully booted my Macrium's rescue disk and my backups on my flash driver showed up
I assume I'm all good for restoring my laptop in case of crash now.
Right I think I'll pass on the partition method even though it sure is convenient for differential backups and planned backups.
For now I'll just store my backups on my desktop PC with 2,5To of storage which I used for storing files and as an HTPC. Risks of crashes are really limited given my very light use on this PC.
Thanks for illustrating this for me. I get the picture but I'll stick with external storage for now.
I'll consider it for my next windows install
Thanks to all of you guys for your useful help. I'm really glad I found this tuto, with my system backed up I feel safe now
Yes you should be OK to recover your laptop. I would recommend that for future images you invest in a USB attached external drive as I'm not sure how reliable a flash drive is as a backup medium.
Those are the .html files found in "C:\ProgramData\Macrium\Reflect"
P.S. : Also on diyaudio.com ?
I hear you it's a legitimate concern.
Though this is a USB 3.1 flash drive with up to 120MB/S in writing mode but I will eventually consider launching the restore process from an external drive if it comes down to it.
Not sure what they are. They are not user files and are probably used internally by MR. The user files are found in your My Documents folder.
Yes. These log the location of the backups etc.

Deleting these will clear the listing shown in MR.

Oh. OK. I've never looked at them.
A couple of days ago Macrium was working just fine but then when it started it's daily backup of my system drive (incremental) it failed pretty well straight away, with this message:
Starting Image - Friday, January 20, 2017...
I threw MACRIUM into the title because I knew it would get Caledon Ken's attention as he keeps recommending it.
My problem with any kind of backups is that when you do so, you are copying all existing errors, bugs and other problems that exist,...
I've configured Reflect to automatically run full and differential backups to two drives as shown in the enclosed Reflect status report.
The report says the last " full system backup to usb hdd" was run on 14/11/16 and was successful....
I noticed today that my daily Reflect backups had failed for the past three days, all with the same log file errors.
The Reflect help file has an entry for VSS Error: 0x8004231f - Failed to Create Volume Snapshot.
I started to research that,...
Trying to restore an image on to a RAID 0 SSD from stand alone version.
After loading the RAID driver Macrium SEES all the HDD's and can select images etc.
However when TARGET destination is chosen No HDD's are seen. !!!
