    I've had that happen sometimes on a system where I have added Macrium to Windows boot menu, then a Macrium update has been downloaded and installed:
    Removing the boot menu entry using BCDEDIT, then adding it again has always resolved the issue for me. Don't ask why, I have not a faintest idea!
    I remove and re-add the boot option as a matter of course. Every time there's a new MR version. I just use msconfig to delete it, go back to MR and add it. Works every time.

    Interesting TC, maybe thats why my MR does not have the issues some folks are having with MR telling them a new update is available ....as I did not install MR into my boot option on this computer.

    See all these creation dates for the files in C:\boot? (The MR folder) They're all the last time I did a rebuild of the WinPE....yesterday. Maybe a clue for those having the problem. It is not broken here.

    Yes. it creates a new one - but identical to the previous. There is no "update" applied. Minor glitch, not sure why anyone is concerned.

    Well, I just went into MR, selected "No Menu" (to remove MR from the boot menu), rebooted, checked, and recovery media still wanted an update. Updated it again, added MR back to the boot menu, checked, and it still wanted an update. Interestingly, the first ISO made is different in size to the other two I made (which are identical). Oh well.

    Boot menu is not related. It is just the standard bcd entry for booting wim from drive.

    Not sure how you can say it is not related when the MR entry is on the Boot Menu.

    Adding boot entry makes Macrium to check the recovery media. If not built yet, Macrium will build it (as in screenshot all other options but PE 10.0).

    The boot menu entry is not related to the subject of the question. I.E. it has no effect on the offer to update the wim.

    Of course, if you haven't created a wim, then macrium will inform you if you try an add a boot menu entry for a file that doesn't exist.

    Probably just poorly explained.
    To update an existing installation, click through to the final rescue media Wizard page and click 'Rebuild'. If your system contains any partition encrypted using BitLocker XTS then the appropriate PE components will be automatically downloaded and PE 10 updated to 1607.
    That implies, if you are not using Bilocker XTS, the update will not be applied.

    The issue seems to be that ( for some ) it doesn't appear to recognise they already have 1607 wim. Possibly some XTS component it is looking for.

    The "rebuild" is no different from what you already had.

    This is redundant, you should not have to do this. Each time you update the Rescue media, everything is in C:\boot\macrium folder is updated. The file and folder structure is unchanged except the contents were updated. The entry in the BCD is the same as shown:
    Code:
    Windows Boot Loader
    -------------------
    identifier              {9a3187f8-d684-11e6-ba06-002683327ad9}
    device                  ramdisk=[D:]\boot\macrium\WA10KFiles\media\sources\boot.wim,{ramdiskoptions}
    path                    \windows\system32\boot\winload.efi
    description             Macrium Reflect System Recovery
    osdevice                ramdisk=[D:]\boot\macrium\WA10KFiles\media\sources\boot.wim,{ramdiskoptions}
    systemroot              \Windows
    detecthal               Yes
    winpe                   Yes
    NOTE: To avoid the folder C:\boot\macrium is over written if you happen to restore Windows then the old PE will replace the updated PE. Use Advanced option in Macrium to relocate the PE file to another partition. e.g D:
