ok ive downloaded the Macrium Reflect Free, i didnt install the VBOOT option as i dont think that applies to me as i'm not going to install image on other computers.

now when i create the image does it create as bootable or is that irrelevant ??

i'm just doing an image of current system and wont be adding anything afterwards as that will do me also.

will still have to work out how to run the created ISO if i have a system failure hence my confusion between bootable or not.

was going to save to a usb drive so how big would that have to be, i have a couple 32gb here.

i've left all settings to default in MR so far.

Macrium Notes:
1. A full OS image backup will be approx. 1/2 the size of the total "used space" on the C:\ drive.
2. Backing up takes about 75 seconds for every 20GB of "used space" on the C:\ drive.

Just to clarify, viBoot has nothing to do with restoring an image to another computer. It allows you to boot from a Macrium Reflect image as a virtual machine using Hyper-V or VirtualBox.
