Backup and Restore with Macrium Reflect  

You would need to extract the default hive from the macrium boot.wim. Load it in regedit
Then adjust the AppliedDpi setting in \Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics

0x60 is 100%, 0x78 is 125%, 0x90 is 150%



Unload the default hive and put it back in the macrium boot.wim


I just did exactly this with O&O diskimage winpe that they claim doesn't work with win7 winpe. That is because the license file that pops up is too large to ok it and proceed. I changed the dpi ( to a smaller setting ) and it works fine.

You need to go the other way - make the setting larger.

Otherwise you could add something to boot.wim that will let you change the res.
One simple way is to pop pecmd into windows system 32. Then you can use cmd prompt and type:
pecmd DISP W1920 H1080 B32

pecmd88.05.82-ENx64.zip

I think I have a copy of the standard macrium boot media - will have a look.

At the top leftish of macrium main window "Other Tasks" > screen resolution.

Does the job, but you will have to do it manually each time.

A way to do this automatically is to change winpeshl.ini to :

Put those two files plus pecmd.exe into system32. You might not need a wait of 20 seconds, could be less.

Yes, I know. The idea is to put those 3 files into macrium boot.wim system32.

Can be done with 7-zip no need to mount the wim.

Create a folder on your desktop called Windows. Inside that create another folder called system32. Put the 3 files into that newly created system32 folder.

Then rt click the newly created windows folder , select 7-zip add to archive. Select wim as the archive type, and browse to the macrium boot.wim.
