Just wanted to ask those that know here about using Macrium 6 Free still, ( if it ain't broke....) I've used it for many years and have had no issues, been very reliable, so I have never updated to MR7 Free , incase it "broke something" but with 1909 here I am wondering if MR6 is really backing up Images correctly or not? ....being that it has been sometime since WinUpdate or some other issue caused me to have to do a restore.
Thanks for any advice ....

Now to be honest it works great but the last few updates have been .... shall we say ....... challenged.
Not for everyone but older gear, USB ports, email lists.
Still I would be using V7 and sticking to my regualr policy, don't update day 1.
I have a mix of purchased and free. Great tool.
Anyone else experiencing this:
If I just run Reflect, and create a full, differential or incremental image, it will be created quite fast. My images will be saved to NAS, and I get quite good write speeds.
However, my scheduled backups are really slow. Not a problem, as they will be done in the background. I am just wondering why?
My schedule creates a full at first of each month, a differential every Monday, and an incremental every day. These daily backups are scheduled to start at 00:15 every night (12:15 AM).
Automatic backups are really slow. The screenshot is taken tonight at 02:07, an hour and 52 minutes after the scheduled backup started:
Note that tonight's backup is incremental, which really should be quite fast and small.
I have noticed that the pre-backup phase, "Looking for changes", is the reason it takes so much time. It can last up to two hours for Macrium to check the changes, before the backup is finally started. When backup starts, it's then quite fast.
Anyone else seeing this, slow scheduled backups?
Kari
I didn't update Macrium so sorry I can comment on time taken to run scheduled backups. Mine are running as they use to.
