or a x64 (but then it is 32bit, not 64)
it has an extra file UDC
and an extra folder "en-us"
..otherwise, it looks identical
it (MBR) looks like it has two partitions

That might be your problem, I'm sure it's only one partition on mine. Maybe you could use some program like Active Partition Manager (free) to ascertain it is only one. Download Active@ Partition Manager - MajorGeeks
From the two line items mentioned in post 450 (as reported by Minitool), I'm not sure whether the second line - 58.52GB of empty unallocated space counts as a 'partition' or not.
When I subsequently use Minitool to Expand the size of the first, primary partion to take up the whole disc; then full reformat it in windows (to FAT32); then use Macrium to create the rescue disk - Macrium says the disc needs reformatting, asks my permission to proceed with the reformat and returns it to the same state as per post 450 -
1) a 1GB active FAT32 partition containing 320MB of rescue files;
and
2) 58.52GB of unallocated space, (The unallocated space shows up as a different line item in Minitool and a different 'box' in windows disk management)...
FAT32 max partition size - 2TB. If you have a 3TB drive, you couldn’t format it as a single FAT32 partition. Please note that you need the help of third-party partition manager to create such a huge partition. If you turn to Windows Disk Management, the largest partition size it helps to create is 32GB, and Extend Volume option is greyed out happens when the partition already occupies 32GB capacity, no matter there is unallocated space following it or not.
