Should first uninstall 6 or just update to 7?

    Best to do clean install.

I have update/upgraded Macrium Reflect both ways. Installing over the top of the old one and removing the old one with a clean install of the new one.
Never had a problem doing either. Macrium Reflect just seem to work as it should.

    Hi,

I do so every time. Quite often MR will recommend it in the change log if they deem it necessary. Nonetheless I do it anyhow.
It doesn't take long on UEFI systems. I let MR create an ISO, mount it and copy the content to my MR rescue usb sticks or backup drive.

    Cheers,
    Thank you fdegrove :)

Not overkill Steph but not always necessary. The difficulty is spotting when it is needed so I do it with every update. It would be nice if the release notes mentioned it.
So maybe I will just keep updating my flash drive, only takes a moment :)

    Keep in mind.....

When Macrium creates the WinPE environment for the flash (and boot menu option), it is also taking the current applicable drivers from your system. Another good reason to just go ahead and take the few moments to make a new one.

At least the release notes tell you what they fix instead of the useless boilerplate "General big fixes and improvements".

I always just update the Paid version but when a new release like V8 comes out I clean install that and I always make Rescue Media, it will even fix boot problems.

Hi guys, i am trying to restore the system image from rescue disk but on my laptop after selecting the restore image and the destination to where it will restore , i cannot go any further because the marcrium reflect window is maximised to full without showing the next button and i am not able to resize reflect window so that i can click next to start the restore process. So if someone can help me out that would be great. Thanks

Yeah this is a problem on some pcs. Some bioses are not compatible with the win pe10 adk files and only display in 640x480 resolution, and you cannot change it.

I had same issue, and the solution was to rebuild the rescue drive using win pe5 files. You may even need to go back to win pe4 files on a really old pc. Just work backwards.

There is an option to choose win pe version when you create the Rescue Drive.

If your present system is borked, you may need to use another pc to do this.
