You can backup to your NAS sure. Whether you can backup your NAS elsewhere (and what Macrium features you can use) depends on the filesystem used on your NASRapid Data Restore (RDR) - supported file systemsRDR and RDC supports NTFS file system only.
Incremental and Differential images have no file system dependencies. You can even create Diff/Inc images of unformatted partitions.
Imaging clusters in use and changed clusters (intelligent copy) is limited to FAT16, FAT32, NTFS and Ext 2,3,4.
For example Macrium will backup my MacOS partition but as it doesn't understand HFS it does sector backup which makes an image of the whole partition (data and freespace) resulting in a large image that you can't mount to restore individual files back.
