If you believe something isn't working John has this thread.
Site Bugs and Suggestions [4]
Mine is ON.
I would report in site bugs thread. I would also clear browsing data as John recommends it a lot and I found it clears my errors.
Mine is set to Off, I`m gonna leave it like that, but at least now I know what`s going on.
Thank You Everyone
You can only drag and drop or Ctrl_V one image per post. More than that doesn't work, probably due to naming conflict.
Interesting. I only use Crtl-V and know I can CRTL-V more than one. Example A
OneNote for Windows 10 shortcut fails
and indeed they have the same name.
First, I want to thank Kari for such a wonderful & informative tutorial. I've used Reflect for years without knowing much of this.
Secondly: regarding Macrium Reflect & Acronis True Image:
I have 2 machines: WinXP & Win10. On WinXP I have Reflect & 7 & TI 2017 (both paid). On Win10, I have Reflect 7 & TI 2018 (both paid). Like most people here, I prefer Reflect; it's very flexible & the support is wonderful. Support also monitors their own forum & solve problems even when the 1 year support expires.
There are some problems with TI. On WinXP, I had a version whose display was translucent…you could see desktop icons or other open programs behind their window…very distracting. On Windows 10, when I click the help button, TI just closes. I do want to mention, however, that having used TI since 2005 (on XP) & having screwed up my machines many times, Acronis always restored my machines without a hitch.
However, I had 2 problems with Reflect, one of which I was surprised wasn't mentioned before in this thread.
April 2019: On WinXP, Reflect 7 (paid version) wouldn’t start after update to 7.2.4859. I contacted support & they supplied me with a fix…version 7.2.4861 (not surprised it wasn't mentioned because that was on WinXP).
April 2018: On Win10, Reflect 7, paid version, CBT produced corrupt incremental & differential backups. If you restored from any, you booted to a black screen. And every incremental after the corrupt one was corrupt. Took them 2 weeks to discover & patch.
See Confluence Mobile - Macrium Reflect Knowledgebase
Fortunately, I sync all my personal files between my 2 computers & was able to restore. This didn’t affect the free version (which doesn’t have CBT) & didn’t affect the paid version if you weren’t using CBT. It also wouldn’t affect you if you didn’t try to restore during the approximately 2 weeks.
There is one feature of Acronis True Image that I find invaluable; it's called Try & Decide. When you start it, you can make any changes you want, install or uninstall apps, etc. You can even reboot several times...T&D stays active. When you're done & close T&D, you're given 3 options: apply changes, apply changes with reboot, or discard changes (which requires a reboot). This feature alone is why I keep both imaging programs on both of my machines.
Thirdly:
Reflect has an option when creating a rescue disk that I didn’t see mentioned. You can check or uncheck an option to prompt for key press when booting.
If you choose this option & have a rescue disk in when you reboot, you will not boot into Windows PE, you’ll just reboot normally unless you press whatever key is appropriate for your computer. There is some advantage to not selecting it also. You can insert your media & reboot to Macrium’s screen without having to remember which key to press or time it correctly. Once you see Macrium fully load, you can eject the rescue disk (otherwise, every reboot will take you to Windows PE).
