What I'm actually asking is, how do I get back to Windows 10 after checking that the USB rescue works? I don't want to restore 'Now', I'm doing what Macrium reflect suggest, 'Check the Rescue Media works'. Once I've checked that it works and that it sees the image I made, how do I get back out of the Macrium Windows PE and back to normal Windows?

While you are booted into USB, just get out of it, since you didn't actually change your OS on disk, all you have to do is to restart computer without that USB.

Yes,..but how? That's what I'm trying to establish here. Do I just shut down the PC, restart or press a cancel button - what??

I have never seen that menu!
I just click on x in top right corner and remive drive, and it reboots to normal boot menus.

    Hi,

Since everything is loaded into DRAM it does not really matter how you quit it.
You can even pull the USB stick out of its socket and everything will still run normally.
Not that I want anyone to develop naughty habbits.....

    Cheers,

It's always been there, Shut down button on bottom left corner. I use it when I want to completely shut down. If you just click Close button top right corner, PC will restart.

Thanks Kari. That was exactly the answer I was looking for. This part isn't in your tutorial that is fantastic by the way but an explanation of how to check if the Rescue Recovery USB works and how to go about it and the subsequent backing out of it to get back to Windows after the check would have helped.

It's new in v7.1 but the red button has always been there. You just didn't get the reboot/shutdown choice.

Yes, versions 5 and 6 only allowed to restart from Shut down button. Screenshot from Macrium Reflect 5.1:
