    I say right?
You will only receive a free upgrade to v8.

I highly recommend their paid version because you can create incremental images. This takes less time & less space than creating differential images. Strange that we've become so used to free utilities that we balk when developers want to be paid for their work. I use Reflect daily for the price of an evening out (well, an evening out at least before the pandemic)
I agree, tremendous value considering the number of times Macrium have saved my machine...and everyone has to make a living.

The rules are different for a Home licence or a Business licence.

For a v7 Home licence purchased today, the upgrade to v8 will be free.

For the Business licences, the upgrade to a newer version is free, provided you have a current Support Contract. Business users can renew their support contract annually, so can get v9/10/etc. as and when they are released as part of their support contract. Support for the Home edition cannot be renewed.

For all versions, home or business use. the licence is perpetual. The software will continue to be licensed and working, even after support has expired.

Non Existent Alternate Drive Causes Error

This morning, I got a message that my image was aborted because it couldn't find the drive. I alternate between my 2 external drives: D & E, & use image ID.

In addition to D & E, under alternative locations, I found
    \\?\Volume{f0d2cbfb-0000-0000-0000-100000000000}\s

Now, I can switch manually, but I still can see this volume under Destinations.

While I'm not sure how this volume appeared, I'd like to get rid of it. I even created a whole new backup definition. When I click on alternate locations, I only see D & E (my external drives). This volume doesn't show up in Disk Management. Is there a way to get rid of this volume? This is what I see in my registry:
Backup and Restore with Macrium Reflect-image.png
I suspect that either D or E has an alternative mounting, if that's possible. This all started after I used Acronis True Image to create & then restore an image.

Additional: Solved, I think: I was able to get rid of the extra "alternative destination" in Reflect (got advice on Reflect forum) by going to HKCU\SOFTWARE\Macrium\reflect\Recent Folders\Image & deleting the subfolder that corresponded to the volume. Not sure what will happen if I open my Drive D again, but we'll see.

Can't Image my C: Drive. "Backup aborted failed to create volume snapshot failed 0x8004230f"

I already did all the support stuff from this thread VSS Error:0x8000ffff - Backup aborted! - Failed To Create Volume Snapshot. - KnowledgeBase v7 - Macrium Reflect Knowledgebase - KnowledgeBase v7 - Macrium Reflect Knowledgebase yet it still doesn't work. Anyone had this issue before in Macrium Reflect (Free) and know how to fix it?

    Thanks <3

If you've followed all the steps listed in the Knowledgebase that you cited and, if you don't get an answer here, you might try over at their support forum at Macrium Support Forum

    Hello phrab,
Does their forum support require you to have the paid MR version?

    Hi Steve:
I do have the paid version, but the forum has volunteers, just like this forum. I do know that, although my "support" has expired, even support engineers have sometimes answered my posts.

Macrium Support, answers questions even without a paid subscription. It might just take, a few more hours to answer, but they will do.
You just need to register to open a support ticket.
