'Choose Power Plan' context menu - Add in Windows 10

I tested the original version in the tutorial in build 16232, and it's still working fine for me.

You could use the command in step 2 of Option three below to see what your current active power plan is in the command prompt. However, it should be the same as what you see in Power Options.

Sorry, I meant your custom .reg file for the context menu.

I looked at many places on the web searching for a perfect "Choose Power Plan" context menu version. Can you suggest how to tweak your reg file to do the following in addition to existing functions:

- highlight currently active plan or its icon, or mark it somehow. Now it remains unknown, when trying to switch plans from context menu thus making the entire solution near senseless;

- run relevant Command window hidden. Now it opens briefly every time a different plan is chosen.

If its hard to implement in Reg, may be you can suggest a short batch file or command sequence running from the same Context menu options instead of basic @ commands, which provides the same features?

I don't know how to have items checked or highlighted in the context menu to help make it clear what is selected. However, you can open "Power Options" from the context menu to quickly see what your current active power plan is.

The quick command prompt flash was by design to let you know a change was made. This can be helpful if you may have mistakenly clicked on an item in the context menu.

I'm not aware of how to have that called and displayed in the context menu.

If quick access is desired I'd open Control Panel, right-click the Power Options icons and Create a shortcut on the Desktop or maybe Pin to Start or Pin to Quick Access.
