    Hello Jonrichco, and welcome to Ten Forums. :)

    I'm glad it was able to help. The 64-bit .reg files include both the 32-bit and 64-bit locations, so you shouldn't have needed to merge both separate .reg files.

    Yeah, you would have needed to be signed in to an administrator account to be able to successfully merge the .reg files.

    Not sure if it just me but when i removed those folders, my start menu shortcut for those stopped working... but i found the fix for it
    1. go to "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu Places"
    2. take ownership of the shortcuts
    3. replace "c:\users\<username>" with "%USERPROFILE%" (w/o the "s)

    *Fun little Note, you can change the name of the shortcut and it will change in the start menu too.. so you can have a custom shortcut in case you want a custom place there. however the icon on the start menu wont change

    Thanks @Brink for this useful guide.

    Just a small question, is it possible to remove the folders just from the navigation pane? or "This PC" from the navigation pane is linked to regular "This PC"

    Thanks

    Hello avismile10,

    I'll have to look into that later today to see, and will post back with my findings.:)

    @avismile10,

    I looked in to it, and it appears buggy to only remove the folders from the navigation pane. Half of them will not remove using the normal method for current user only. Using the method for all users would involve a lot of owner and permission changes of the registry keys for each folder before being able to remove them.

    It's alright, no need to work to hard on it, i just used the regular method.

    Thanks!

    Hello alahlawy, and welcome to Ten Forums. :)

    Where and how are you clicking the related folders for them to reappear?

    Are the folders gone again after closing and reopening File Explorer?
