I think you broke the reg files for me; I took the KB4517389 win10 update yesterday, had to do some chkdsk stuff to fix it, and I used both the right click and shift+right click reg files, and it gives me this error window
    Attachment 250768

this happened and continues to happen even after doing a chkdsk /r /f operation, dism finds no component store corruption, sfc finds no corruption as well, these shortcuts are just plain not working at all, at least for me that is, can't say for anyone else

    Hello mate,

It's still working for me in build 18999.

As a test, download the .reg file in the tutorial currently and merge it to see if it may fix this for you.

Odd. What is the full path of the item you are right clicking on? Maybe something with it?

In addition, double check the registry entries from the .reg file in your Registry Editor to see if they all got set.

I saved the reg file to my desktop, my user profile tag is The G-Nerd, and I double checked the reg entries, and they are set at what they're meant to be in the downloaded reg file

Here's a copy of the old version to see if it still works for you as a test.

Thank you. Running a fresh copy of Win10 [Version 10.0.18362.418], and this fixes the issue for me.

Hello, and welcome to Ten Forums.

Does the newer version currently in the tutorial on the first page work for you?

No. That was the first thing I tried, and I got the same error with EXPLORER.EXE that BrokenDaily had.

(EDIT: And thank you for the welcome / reg files / continued support of said files.)

ok, so the older version you gave me worked perfectly; ill need to compare on what changed between the two because the newer versions dont work at all

    - - - Updated - - -

alright, so comparing the two shows one command line change, replacing some of the '/s,/k,pushd,%V'

with '/s,/k,pushd,""%L""' (for some reason, windows keeps erasing some of the \ in this newer line, no matter how many times I copy/paste, even in my firefox web browser)

the newer ones with the '/s,/k,pushd,""%L""' do not work for me at all, but the OLDER one with the '/s,/k,pushd,%V' works just fine

The %L or %V part of the command is a variable used for the folder/drive name you right click on.

It's normal for the \ from the .reg file not to show in the registry. This is for the extra quotes in the command to allow for folder/drive name spaces and characters.

I haven't figured out why yet the new version works fine for me and others, but not for you guys and sure others.

If you're up for some testing, could you see if the test version below will work for you?
