Thank you so much.....
best wishes for the new year and beyond....
You're most welcome. :)
You should be able to use the same for any other file. If the file doesn't have "Pin to Start" by default, you could create a shortcut of the file, then "Pin to Start" the shortcut.
Hi,
I have HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender
DisableAntiSpyware DWORD = 1
I have Windows Defender Antivirus Service = Manual
I also have Windows Defender Security Center Service = Disabled
On machine restart I still get call for > C:\Program Files\Windows Defender\MpCmdRun.exe
any way to know what's calling MpCmdRun.exe and or how to stop call?
Thanks
MpCmdRun.exe is a command line tool for Windows Defender Antivirus.
Use the command line to manage Windows Defender AV | Microsoft Docs
Do you have any tasks or anything set to run using this command?
Um, not that I'm aware of. About a minute after machine restart is at desktop....my anti-executable popup reports:
C:\Program Files\Windows Defender\mpcmdrun.exe | 4CFFC91D60698DD5A783214D1C7DFC5F | Microsoft Corporation | [5948]c:\windows\system32\svchost.exe | "C:\Program Files\Windows Defender\mpcmdrun.exe" -wdenable
I have mpcmdrun.exe Blacklisted

Anyway, the reason why i wanted to turn off my windows defender is that it does not have silent mode!
Its frekkin annoying when it starts scanning and bleeping when i game, it simply does not recognise when i am gaming and when i game i want 100% of the performance! I know what i am doing online, i am not clicking everything that pops up on my screen.
This is why i took PRO version of Windows 10, so i can atleast do some tweaking, HOME version is too closed...
I can easily play 6-12 hours daily if i have honestly nothing else to go for so the "active hours" do not work properly for gamers either when it only has 12 hour window... if i first play 6 hours, take a brake for hour or two and then continue again 6 hours then its already closer to 15 hours when i need DO NOT DISTURB.
i found plenty settings to be chanced at group policy, i just dont understand why MS cant give one simple button to fully disable it, gotta go click like dozen different ones now?
How do I fix this? I tried to disable it on the latest update of windows and now it’s deleted but still working.
