gave a message that Windows.edb file is not found
Hi, the only solution found for that symptom is an in-place upgrade repair install which keeps all progs and data and most settings.

Hi when I try to unlock the bat file I get:

    System error 123 has occurred.

The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.

Hello M, and welcome to Ten Forums.

It sounds like the .bat file download may have been interrupted and not fully downloaded.

If you like, manually create the .bat file using the code above the download in the tutorial. You would copy and paste the code into Notepad, and save it as a .bat file instead of a .txt file.

Thank you @dalchina. Index now corrected.

I'm sure it could use a "Rest", but needs a "Reset" instead. LOL

Hi Shawn, mkennedy reports Option 3 does not reset the file types indexed:
Add or Remove File Types for Search Index in Windows 10
    post #3

Is that feasible, and should it be included? Thanks!

    Hey mate,

Rebuilding the index using any of the options wouldn't reset what is set for the included file types. It would only update the index for what is currently set.

I posted something there to see if Enhanced Mode may be a cause.
