Create Elevated Shortcut without UAC prompt in Windows 10  

@Brink, could you upload this latest version of Create_an_elevated_shortcut.bat? It will remove the space at the end of the file path (if any), so that the same issue will not happen again.

If you want to kill the flash, right-click on the shortcut and change "Normal window" to "Minimized". The .bat file just uses the default settings, which can be changed at will. Also, the version you downloaded hours ago does not work if you have put it in a folder whose name contains a pair of brackets. The problem has been fixed in the version in this post.

Searched for "OBS" and "OBS Studio" - no results

Will this method work for allowing OBS Studio to run in admin mode without an annoying prompt every time? OBS ran as admin runs a bit smoother, and I'd love to have my streamdeck automate without having 2 UAC prompts every time.

It should work if applied to the executable file for OBS Studio.

Thanks for the response. Also got it working for Streamlabs Chatbot. Gets annoying having that extra popup twice just to have my streams run smoother haha.

@Brink, I have created this .bat file, which will add "Elevated Shortcut" into the "New" context menu as shown below:


Just click on "Elevated Shortcut", which lets you create an elevated shortcut as shown in option 1. Could you add the above .bat into the tutorial? The following .bat file will remove "Elevated Shortcut" from the menu: https://www.tenforums.com/attachment...ntext_menu.bat

Thanks so much for offering these solutions! Option 2 worked great.

But there is something missing... I have an old app for editing audio files (no newer one is as effective unfortunately).
The app is configured to run when clicking on a WAV file. So option 2 would need the file name passed in as an argument.

Does anyone know if that can be done in the task scheduler?
