    @Brink,
    Could you use this updated version "Create_an_elevated_shortcut.zip" in your tutorial? It now works with both the default desktop and a relocated desktop.
    Done.

    I don't think it can work with "wushowhide.diagcab" since it would most likely run an application file within the .cab instead.
    @Brink

    Easy way, as usual.
    It's matter to create a .bat which launches the .cab.
    Then giving runas Administrator to the .bat
    Quite easy!

    When I double-click on "wushowhide.diagcab", no UAC prompt pops up.

    Option One works fine with a .bat file, which will be run as an administrator without a UAC prompt.
    Try it yourself. Report the results.

    I want to create an elevated cmd prompt shortcut that when clicked will ignore the UAC prompt. I also want to create an elevated PowerShell prompt shortcut that when clicked will ignore the UAC prompt. There are a lot of interpretations of how this can be achieved on the Net. Which of the following, if any, will open the cmd and PowerShell shortcut as an aministrator without the UAC prompt? . . .

    Code:
    cmd /c echo|set/p=\"%L\"|powershell -NoP -W 1 -NonI -NoL \"SaPs 'cmd' -Args '/c \"\"\"cd /d',$([char]34+$Input+[char]34),'^&^& start /b cmd.exe\"\"\"' -Verb runas\""
    Code:
    PowerShell -windowstyle hidden -Command \"Start-Process cmd -ArgumentList '/s,/k,pushd,%V && start PowerShell && exit' -Verb runas\""
    Code:
    Powershell.exe "Start-Process cmd -Verb RunAs"
    Code:
    Powershell.exe "Start-Process PowerShell -Verb RunAs"

    Both can be done by option one: Create Elevated Shortcut without UAC prompt in Windows 10
    Just enter the names and the following paths:
    %windir%\System32\cmd.exe
    %windir%\system32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\powershell.exe

    Note: the second path could be different as per your version.

    Thanks for the reply, it is appreciated!
    Are there not one liner commands that I can enter into the shortcut then?
