Well lets say I am getting there Shawn and now I have a new drive I am going to try the clean install method on my main machine . There are still a few things that I find a tad irritating like some Windows Back up service popping up when I run CCleaner and not being able to close it as it did go on to ask for money - but have sorted it by unistalling it.

That doesn't sound like anything related to Windows, it sounds like you were hit with some rogue installer adding something you didn't want.

Yes well I thought as much Derek and as there are more such pop ups I thought maybe a part of 10 - not to worry though I have got rid of it now. Ready to try on the main laptop now and will certainly be on the lookout for that stuff this time.

    Hi @Brink,

the Turn on BAT registry edit link, needs to be added to the Change Accent colour tutorial, as under the
Start Taskbar and Action centre the tick box has been "grayed out"
(MS changed it a couple of builds ago)

Tested now got a BLUE task bar - Yipee

    Hello Roy,

Did you mean for this below? I added a warning to help make it stand out more the need to use Custom or Dark.

If you selected to use Light for Choose your color or Choose your default Windows mode, then the Start, taskbar, and action center setting will be grayed out.

    Hi @Brink

Thats the one, the reg edit allows the "light" scheme default only gray colour to be changed

My systray has changed to the custom color using the on bat file. But on to some of my related problems are causing problems, I think they are related.

After I installed 1909, all of this started.

All systray, windows explorer, etc. colors would be what I set them under each theme I created using Personalize.

After 1909, sometimes when switching to a different theme, the systray would go white, I could read the icons there. i mean bright white.

Sometimes I could switch back to the previous theme, and get the systray, window explorers windows, etc. to change back.

But selecting custom on the colors page wouldn't give me the color selected. I could only have dark or light. I did check to see if I had high contrast turned on, but it wasn't.

After I ran the bat file, I got the navy blue systray I wanted, but windows explorer, and settings pages under windows stayed black.

Any way I can fix this and get white background in any window I open ?

    Thanks.

I click on a different theme, systray goes white again.

    Hello @jimjoe,

Changing your theme will indeed affect your personalization settings.

It depends on if you are currently set to use light or dark mode.

Color for Start, taskbar, and action center (if checked) is only available when you use dark mode for "Choose your default Windows mode" or "Choose your color".

Okay, I presume this was to 'enhance my experience'. Don't care for it.

    Thanks for the update.

I remember the old system where I could select colors for almost everything. While it did have its problems if I selected a wrong color combo and the letters were the same color as the bar they were on, it did help and was useful.

    Anything like that around ?
