Hello, can you tell us roughly the logic behind
    "PromotedIconCache"
    "IconStreams"
    "PastIconsStream"
I don't know the logic of them, but they are where the taskbar notification area icons are referenced at in binary. The binary makes it impossible to ID specific icons in the values.

This batch is not working as expected anymore. I am using Windows 10 64-bit 20H2 19042.685.
Explorer gets closed and it deletes the Registry entries.
But I don't get offered to restart.
I have to Ctrl-Alt-Delete to bring up the Task Manager and manually start Explorer.

Hmm, I'm seeing the same thing. I'll have to do some testing and see what the issue may be.

Thank you for letting me know.

After more testing, it's working now as is, but it does appear to sometimes take longer before seeing the restart option.

I tried it on 2 different computers and even tried running as Administrator, but got the same result.

    Edit:
By the way. I have used this batch in the past without this problem.
Could something have changed in Windows 10 to cause this problem?

Have you tested running it back to back to see how it runs the second time?

    No, I haven't.
Did you notice a difference doing that?

It's how I spotted it first working that way, and working each time after not able to reproduce it not working yet.

    The behavior is odd.

Would this solve the Network icons issue I'm having too?
Or is this specific to application icons that are displayed in the tray area?
    Thanks

    Hello,

I'm afraid this will only affect icons in the tray area.
