    Finally Reset_Notification_Area_Icons_Cache.bat worked.
    Could not find PastIconsStream.
IconStreams was the only binary there.
    Thanks.

    Your batch file works great!
Finally, all my uninstalled apps disappeared from the "Select which icons appear on the taskbar"-screen and the previously empty icons show the correct symbol for the installed programs now. I'm happy, thanks a lot Brink!

    Missing icon

I found this thread because I was having the same problem with mixed-up icons. Now I have a different problem. I have a program in the list, it has the correct icon, and is turned on, but does not show in the task bar when running. Any ideas?

    Thanks

Hello edn3005, and welcome to Ten Forums. :)

What program is this happening with?

Please go ahead and post a screenshot showing this to see if anything may stand out.

See attachment. The program is Macrium Reflect. As you can see, the icon is there in the notification icon settings, and is turned on, but does not appear when the program is active. I'm using Win 10.

    Hello @edn3005, :)

Does the Macrium Reflect icon appear in the expanded arrow menu to the left of the notification area icons?

It seems that the icon doesn't show unless Macrium Reflect is currently performing a backup or restore though.

If so, then you could turn on Always show all icons in the notification area to see them all.
