    Hello,

Do you see icons for other files in the same installed folder, or is it still only this .exe not showing the icon?
Hi brink, its just that particular exe. Everything else is AoK.

If you toggle using different icon sizes for the view in the installed folder, does it show the icon?

That's a negative. Here is a copy of the exe from another computer for reference sake/how the icon SHOULD be looking.

Odd. You might try reinstalling the app to see if that may help.

I did, three times. and it is odd. and frustrating and annoying. Being ocd is not helpful when these types of things happen :P

If you think of anything else, by all means :)

Hi Shawn, regarding the update for search icons.. I think the path is wrong.

    %LocalAppData%\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.Search_cw5n1h2txyewy\LocalState\AppIconCache\xxx

where xxx appears to be >= 100

    See:
GitHub - phuze/windows-10-missing-search-icons: Manual method for fixing missing Microsoft Store application icons when searching in Windows.

Also the Code sample would need updating.

Also FWIW that's only valid for builds after the change not to use Cortana, as per that article.

    Thanks!

    Hello mate,

It looks to be the same path in the BAT below.

    set searchiconcache=%localappdata%\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.Search_cw5n1h2txyewy\localstate\AppIconCache\100

Hi, I've just downloaded the bat file again- seems to be different to the one I downloaded before, plus the code extract shown is now updated, so now has the path as you show. Maybe the previous one I downloaded was an old one.

However note that the '100' at the end is not fixed. As I said, it's >= 100. I.e. initially starts at 100, then changes.. e.g. mine's

Another peculiarity about this, found when I dealt with updating LibreOffice on my other laptop. I happened to have an odd copy of the shortcut folder elsewhere, with the old icons. Even after updating LibreOffice, making the same correction manually in AppIconCache, I found the reference icon remained the OLD folder- even when that was deleted to the Recycle bin. Only emptying that and rebuilding the index then allowed the correct icons to be seen! Talk about complicated...

    Thanks!

Odd. I'm not sure why it's opening the "123" folder for you when "100" is specified in the path.

Could be if you don't have a "100" folder, it'll stop at the last "AppIconCache" folder in the path if copy/paste into the address bar?
