Thank you for working with me on this Brink,
I use your desktop restore point tool daily when I log in and before and after major changes. I'm pretty sure this is the first time I've used it with Windows 10.

    Hi
I ran the rebuild icon batch file is there a way to undo it? I kept my excel spreadsheets for work in the folders on the desktop. The icons are there but when I open then and click the excel spreadsheets they do not open.

Hello @pschiller, and welcome to Ten Forums. :)

The .bat file from the tutorial doesn't affect file association.

Are you able to open the Excel files using "Open with" or from within Excel?

Does she have any issues opening Excel locally on the PC?

If yes, you could try reinstalling Excel on top of her current Excel installation to perform a repair of it to hopefully fix it.

Brink, I'm having a problem with one of my desktop themes, the recycle bin icon doesn't change when bin is emptied/full, I have to refresh the desktop to get it to show the correct icon, would this fix work to correct it?
    Thanks for your reply.

    Hello Virginia, :)

One of the options in the tutorial instead below should be able to fix the Recycle Bin icon not refreshing.

I forgot to mention they're custom icons, will that make a difference to running the fix?

That's ok. Using option 3 for below would be best for custom icons. You would basically want to add ,0 to the end of your .ico file path in the registry like below.
