Keyboard Shortcuts List for Microsoft Edge

    information   Information
Microsoft Edge is a new web browser that is available across the Windows 10 device family. It is designed for Windows 10 to be faster, safer, and compatible with the modern Web.

Keyboard shortcuts are combinations of two or more keys that perform a task that would typically require a mouse or other pointing device. Keyboard shortcuts can save you time and effort as you use Windows and other apps.

This tutorial will show a list of keyboard shortcuts that can be used for the Microsoft Edge web browser in Windows 10.

    Note   Note
Since there is not an official list of shortcuts by Microsoft yet, this will be a list of shortcuts that I and anyone that posted has found so far until then. This tutorial will be kept updated.

If you know of any keyboard shortcuts that are not already listed in this tutorial, then please feel free to post a reply with it to help others. :)

    Shawn,

Thanks for posting this list :). Nice. I see a lot of the same keys that are included in IE.

I see this in your list

CTRL + Shift + B Toggle Favorites bar on or off

Does ALT+c also toggle the Favorites bar as in IE11?

Also, with Edge, does the Favorites bar close when the user selects another web page from their Favorites bar?

For example, when I'm at a page in IE11, then I press <alt>c to display my Favorites bar on the right-hand side of the screen, and then I select another web page to go to on the current tab, does the Favorites bar then disappear (close) with Edge as it does in IE11?

    Hello Voyager,

Yeah, it seems that most of the keyboard shortcuts for IE11 are the same in Edge so far.

Currently the Favorites bar can only be turned on or off as needed. I don't see an option to just have it show temporarily until clicking on a link.

Thanks for the info on the Favorites bar :)

Does the <ctrl> left-mouse-click combination work in Edge the same as in IE?

For example, if I'm at a web page that has a link on the page and I want to open that link on another tab, I use the <ctrl> left-click combination (clicking on the link) and that opens the link in a new tab.

You can also simply wheel click, or middle click the link, but in Spartan, it won't switch to the clicked link as in IE.

Thanks again for the info. Outstanding

This Win 10 "metro/desktop" picture is looking better for keyboard nerds each time I visit this forum :)

Thanks for the info. Good to know. I have the right-hand keyboard keypad set up for mouse controls so I hold down the <ctrl> key and press the 5 key (left click).

    Shawn,

Does the <alt> HOME key combo launch the Edge Home page? For example, with IE11, if I press <alt> HOME, IE will launch my home browser tab[s].

    Hey Voyager,

Nope. ALT+Home doesn't do anything in Project Spartan so far.
