Program crashes are not system crashes, the tutorial is focused on system crashes. Program crashes are a complete different story.

Program crash dumps are stored in %localappdata%\CrashDumps.

Because program crashes are different, you need symbols that are not available for the public which makes them difficult to debug. There are no tutorials for it.

You can't disable the setting that sets the location for program crash dumps, it won't stop programs from crashing but may get you into trouble with unexpected problems.

    Hi there,

now im a little bit confused. In the description in the top of the tutorial it says "By default Windows 10 is set to write Automatic memory dumps", but in "Option three" its "Have Windows Create a Kernel Memory Dump on BSOD" as default. Which is correct?

I have another problem my Windows 10 freezes or restarts , there is no BSOD never seen one in couple years since it runs Windows 10. What can I use to investigate what it's causing it. Actually there is a check mark to save minidumps there but the neither the folder nor the file gets ever created.
As I said no BSOD, so no dump. I only have the event viewer to read about it as critical/Kernel-Power/41 " system restarted ebcause either an error or crashed or didn't respond or power unexpectedly was interrupted." I suspect power is not enough as it happened just as I was losing supply for the keyboard and mouse. How could I no for sure how to rule out other interferences?
    Thanks
