Windows 10: Link Microsoft Account to Windows 10 Digital License
The same screen except doesn't have the option to add a Microsoft account, not sure if have the anniversary update, is it easy to tell ?
Yes , use WinKey+R and type winver then enter and you should see 1607 if it is AU..... if 1511 you are one major version behind.
Go ahead and post a screenshot showing this to see if anything stands out.
Hello.....yes I am now updating to 1607....once at the anniversary update can I do what I mentioned with the user logins ?
i.e. Admin associated with MS account, but no login password, plus a second user standard account but with a logon screen..
Thanks, do I,use your tutorial to remove the password at login, because it seems to apply to,all user accounts, but will give it a go.
The problem with this is pc will always automatically login to admin account, and never allow you to select the standard account. Basically to switch accounts, all accounts need a password. This is not new to Windows 10 - always been like that.
It would be best to create a new thread for the sign in topic for better support since it's unrelated to this tutorial.
Agreed, thanks for the help....
I have just re installed Windows 10 on a different iMac as my old one died and I activated it with the Windows 8 retail product key I used to update to 10 in first place.
I am preparing to replace motherboard and processor due to a couple of incidents recently. The current parts are 4 yrs. old. Win10 is up to date -updated from original Windows 7 Pro.
I have a MSaccount on my laptop but I did not enter a MSAccount into the desktop at original Windows 10 install.
I don't use any of the facilities available via an MSA while on the desktop. (no camera, no microphone, use Dropbox )
I interpreted that one MSAccount would do but that doesn't appear to be the case.
I see that it is required to have a MSAccount if a major part is to be replaced. The motherboard/processor brand and model will change.
I don't understand what I am to enter into the Desktop when initiating a MSaccount.
Currently I do not log on into the desktop.
I understand that my sole user account will change to be a log in MsAccount.
Then I will be logging into the desktop thereafter( or- use the log in tutorial to revise that)
I will use the same email address.
Do I use the same password as is used on the laptop? (The laptop has a pin)
Could someone help me please. I'm trying to setup Cortana and have been doing for some time now.
I've fixed the issues regarding "Not Available in your Country / Region" by setting all my settings to UK and made sure they're all the same....
I just updated to Windows 10 and the account I migrated from Windows 7 won't let me link my Microsoft account. Windows Store crashes when I click Sign In, and any other button that would bring up a dialog box is just unresponsive (Cortana, User...
When I click on the link to associate my Microsoft Account to my Local Account (after upgrading from Windows 7), it simply does nothing. Click, click, click.
Similarly, when I try to log in the Windows store app, I get an application...
