Hello vpfalco, and welcome to Ten Forums.

I'm afraid that "Set Program Access and Computer Defaults" only opens to the "Default apps" page in Settings now in Windows 10.

Was there something specific you wanted to set?

Yes, I need to be able to set Windows Live Mail to default in order to highlight the send page by email option in IE 11. Previously I had to set the default app and then go to Custom and do it again. Custom is no longer there but I was reading I can Run a CLSID to possibly get the page.

Unfortunately, all the old ways to open "Set Program Access and Computer Defaults" also only open to the Settings page instead now.

Setting "Windows Live Mail" as your default "Email" app alone should allow you to use the send page by email option in IE11.

This is what MS calls progress - you now have less control over setting defaults than the old Control Panel method.

I'm using NirSoft FileTypesMan to set file associations on my Ver 1803s & 1709s. It works well.

    Strange entries

I tried to set a few file associations with the default in the settings and found this while looking. Any ideas what these might be? Certainly not files that need to be read.

How to remove context menus "Add to Windows Media Player List" and "Play with Windows Media Player" but KEEP file associations?

Unfortunately it seems to me that context menus and file associations are inseparably linked together.

But I want to get rid only of the first part and keep the second.
When I double click on a *.mp3 file it should be played with the current default program (WMP or other).

    How can I achieve this?
