    Hi,
Here, it works fine...after a new user account creation

The best way (imo) to "resolve" Start menu issues is a new user account (Administrator) creation!

I've clean installed v.1803, if I remember well, 5 times with different issues every time, most of them had to do with corrupted user profile which causes this Start menu mess and most of the times it could not be repaired.

    Hi Guys,

I think I solved the broken start menu problem. At least, it works for me.

I took your advice and created a new user account, but when I got there the start menu was still having problems. It was behaving erratically, but In some circumstances It actually would adjust a little wider, but not to get where it should be.

I started wondering if custom scaling might be affecting it. Waaaaay back in Win XP, thru trial and error, I set my most comfortable custom scaling level to "157". It made fonts more legible and scaled apps to the right size for my needs.

Anything higher than "157" would create problems. I've maintained that setting ever since, including in Windows 10.

I turned off custom scaling and whatta ya know! The start menu went back to normal!

I went back and tinkered with the custom levels, and it turns out "156" is the tipping point for my setup. Anything higher breaks the start menu.

I went back to my original user account, made the change, and it worked there as well.
