In the start menu on my Windows 10 machine there is an option for Windows Powershell and below that for Windows Powershell (x86)
It is when I open the second that I get the same error that started all this.

If I try the Get-WinEvent command it works as normal.

Yeah, you'll have to run the command in the normal Windows PowerShell without (x86).

Does that mean that I can't rely on this command in 32 bit machines? I know there aren't many left but they do exist and in the program that I'm writing I need the information that this command gives, if at all possible.

Yes, you sure can. It just will not run in the Windows PowerShell (x86) version for some reason.

    Hello Underthaker,

I have updated option 4 to include PowerShell commands that output to a text file on your desktop to help.
