ok, so i've now completed all steps in both 32 and 64 bit but "This PC" is still appearing in my save as window. Halp
ps. i'm trying this in excel if that means anything
Thanks, it worked like a charm!
This PC also disappeared from Quick Access, though. Do you know if there's a way you can hide This PC as a stand-alone entity, but not from Quick Access?
Hello @GustvandeWal, and welcome to Ten Forums.
As a workaround, you could create a shortcut of "This PC" where you want using the method below, and "Pin to Quick Access" it to have it stay under Quick Access in the navigation pane.
1) Create a New Folder where you want to keep it at.
2) Rename the folder asThis PC.{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}
3) Pin the folder to Quick Access.
Oh wow.
I've tried looking up how I can make a shortcut to This PC. Apparently libraries can't link to This PC, and mklink required the destination folder to not yet exist. I didn't expect it to be so easy.
Anyway, thanks again. My File Explorer finally looks like this.
Will any of the methods you describe in your tutorial on removing the drive letter break anything? I saw that in the first method there's a pop-up that warns you about it. Otherwise I'm gonna remove that too
You or Windows just won't be able to access anything on the drive that you remove the drive letter for until you add a drive letter next.
Oh okay. No luck then. Thanks for the quick reply
