    Hello. I followed the guide exactly. However, This PC still shows up in Explorer. I had to"Exit Explorer" and theb run explorer.exe from Task Manager. You should clarify that you have to sign out and back in, restart, or exit and reopen explorer to see the changes. You do so from the "default setting" steps but not the removal steps.

    Yes. My point was that it wasn't clear if that only applied to the "add This PC" onlyor also "remove This PC"

    Normally, step 12 would apply to both.

    I've updated the tutorial to help make that more clear.

    Hello akola,

    You wouldn't be able to merge a .reg file unless you already did steps 1 to 5.

    It's required to be an administrator to add or remove This PC in the navigation pane.

    Hello @GustvandeWal, and welcome to Ten Forums.

    As a workaround, you could create a shortcut of "This PC" where you want using the method below, and "Pin to Quick Access" it to have it stay under Quick Access in the navigation pane.

    1) Create a New Folder where you want to keep it at.

    2) Rename the folder as This PC.{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}

    3) Pin the folder to Quick Access.
    Any idea how to also do this with the public desktop link?
