    Well, same program keep memory...
    Excel for instance
    tried several location... (pic 1)

but when I wanted to upload the Snips
(saved by default in Cimoni folder)
I was expecting the last Excel folder was kept
( Not PCs on Dropbox but "Cimoni")

I got instead (Camera upload).... (pic 2)

    No Idea why,
but second upload got it right (pic 3)

In the Pics check the folder exposed in the bar folder Line
instead of into the folder pane

So I'll operate this PC next days and report back my finding ....§
    ... so far it's promising

The common dialogs retain seperate MRU (most recently lused) lists of locations for each extension --- so Notepad dialogs, filtering on *.txt, will open to a different folder than a Paint dialog, filtering for picture extensions.

But if they get cleared out, a dialog may defalut to the applications install location.

As you use the dialogs in various applications and your preferred locations are remembered, the behavior should improve.

Hello Brink, I have an issue that is a bit different. when I click "save as" in a software the save as dialog box shows up with no file name and file type field.

this happens when I use "print--print to 'CutePDF Writer'" as well. Do you know why this is happening?

    thank you

Hello, and welcome to Ten Forums.

If you haven't already, you could try the tutorial to reset this to default to see if it may help.

If not, then you could try a repair install of Windows 10 below without losing anything.

Hi guys, I'm trying to do something a little different and thought this would be a good place to ask.

You can right-click on the column bar (in details mode) and uncheck some headers so they become hidden, you can also select More... to change the column widths. Is there a way to reset all of that and even delete the file(s) where those settings are stored? It saves it somewhere because you can create a new folder, change the column settings, delete the folder, then create another new one with the same name and the settings are persistent. Thanks.

    Hello,

I believe completely resetting folder view settings below should include that, but it does reset all folder view settings back to default.

Wow Brink, that worked perfectly, it's like a fresh install now. I remember you being so helpful at the Seven Forums from way back, it's nice to see you're still going strong.
